How many people have died trying to climb Mount Everest?

Over 200 people have died trying to climb Mount Everest and an estimated 120 of the bodies remain still there. Due to the harsh conditions in the so called “Death Zone“, the area above the final base camp at 26,000 feet (8,000 meters), rescue efforts are extremely difficult and risky at best and suicide missions at worst.
